Whitehaven beach on Whitsunday Island, from Google Earth.
We went for another cruise in the raft and stopped further down the beach and ate a buffet dinner that made me realise i like mussells (they were amazing), we had to be careful of the seagulls though as they were like British seagulls on steroids and dive bombed at every chance! We then played rugby and went for a swim, then headed back and saw a turtle on the way :D
Bus travelling times! We travelled over 1000km on one of the overnight bus rides, sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag was the best option!
Our hut at Airlie, just for one night.
Inside the hut :) Very cosy for four of us :)
Spot the cockatoos. The sky here at night was amazing as there was so little light because Airlie beach is in the middle of nowhere, and so we could see hundreds of stars at least! Never seen anything quite like it :)
Parrots everywhere! They even ate off your head if you put food on it!
Us looking very sexy in our wetsuits for snorkelling.
U on the ocean raft after our snorkel.
Rafting through the Whitsunday islands.
And again.
Human pyramid before we got Kozue on top! (Back at Airlie)
Our feet on the whitest sand in the world! Whitehaven beach <3
Taking aquamarine waters to a new level.
The ocean raft.
Prettiness, regardless of the clouds.
Golden eagle.
The weirdest crabs ever! As soon as you ran up to them they all ran away and burrowed into the sand.
Kim holding one of the crabs that didn't get away.
Sting ray! (It's a bit camoflage)
Whitehaven beach = The most amazing view.
And again.
It must look even more amazing in the sun.
Group photo.
Free beer and pizza, yes please! (After we got back to Airlie)
Learning to play the didge in Whitsunday opals, it's suprisingly fun, so much so that i actually bought one and had it posted to me in the UK.
Us having a didge off!
Whitehaven beach, some of the best scenery in the world and the whitest sand in the world all in one place! It would have been perfect if not for the dive bombing sea gulls!
It is definately a must see place if you ever visit Australia, as i already said, it was one of the best days of my life and i'll never forget it :)
I was also suprised to see, when looking at the Whitsunday islands on Google Earth, that so many of them are named after English places, particularly from the North!
So that's Keswick, Scawfell, St Bees, Carlisle and Penrith just on this image, i also managed to find Cheviot and Gloucester. I know the Europeans invaded but this just takes the biscuit, could they not be a little but more original?
As if Newcastle NSW wasn't enough, there's a place just outside it called Liverpool! You can't escape England, not even a 24 hour flight and 10,600 miles away!
