Byron Bay!

We spent a few days at Byron Bay and in that time i managed to go ocean kayaking, skydiving, whale watching and surfing! We went shopping in the alternative atmosphere of Byron Bay which was great! And managed to find a cafe with the most amazing cake and milkshake! Haha. I also managed to find a family from Birmingham who had moved out to Aus and decided to never go back to the UK! Don't blame them personally, the Gold Coast is beautiful!

Byron Bay, the most easterly point of Australia, from Google Earth.

Walking on a beach in Byron Bay (you can do ocean kayaking from the same beach), heading to the coastal lighthouse walk.

Lookout point, awesome memories! We got a little bit lost after coming out of the coastal rainforest and then stumbled across this little wooden balcony overlooking Byron Bay!

Nap time before our walk!

Just hanging around... On the lighthouse walk.

Aquarius backpackers party time, one of the best hostels we stayed in!

Light house trail, the most easterly point of Australia, lovely views from here, you can even spot humpback whales.

Excitement.
Why wouldn't you be excited? AUSTRALIA.

Byron Bay 2011, obligatory sand photo.

Amazing scenery on the way to the lighthouse walk.

And a little bit more.

Best place in the world :D Not sure if the guy who's car this is would be too pleased though!

Pigeon with a mohawk. Awesome.

A wild turkey, they are absolutely everywhere!

The scenery was just too good on the walk!

Cape Byron.

Beautiful!

Byron Bay lighthouse, near the end of the walk.

Obligatory Google Earth image of the lighthouse and the view!

View from the lighthouse on one side.

View from the other side, spot the whale spout.

The part of Byron Bay I skydived over :)

Coastal rainforest path.

The only place i've been happy to get lost in.

Well I survived, and so did everyone else, parachutes aren't that dangerous.

Our sky diving plane, it was a little on the small side.

Before, looking a little bit ridiculous in those red trousers!

We were told to sit on the edge of the plane and put our legs underneath, i was the last to go and had to see everyone else disappear over the edge.
14,000 feet between me and the ground...

Down I go, super cold but super amazing!

I had a 60 second freefall, the skin on your face does things you never thought it could.

Gabe, my parachutist lol.

Luckily the parachute worked and we got a bird's eye view of Byron :) Excellent.

Byron Bay surf school time! Nearly all of us were surfing after the third try.

Surf group photo! Brilliance.

Australian trees are so much more fun, the koalas were clearly beginning to influence us at this point, if you ever go on the lighthouse trail, you MUST climb this tree :)

Mini bike riding, minus the wig that fell off! During some games at Aquarius backpackers, for beer prizes :D

Byron Bay, what a place! Definately well worth a visit, whether you want to go for a walk, whale watch, jump out of a plane, go surfing,  kayak with dolphins etc. Or just chill on the beach in the sun.
It was the most chilled out town ever, random people were sitting in the street playing sitars while smoking a joint. Enough said.
